RARITIES

Hi EVERYONE,

here below a preview of some UNIQUE prototypes developed by us on our constant research to replicate real worn jeans and some unique objects we collect during our trips around the world, lucky us, eh? ;)

These are all objects you can find on "RARITIES" section on our website.

Hurry up as some are sold out already (side effects of our newsletters I guess).

Remember that from now on we'll post new objects once in a while so remember to come back often or stay tuned on our FACEBOOK page in order to get what you want before someone else will get it.

Take care and see you soon.

JUSTO: an alien creature

Justo is “an alien creature that brings prosperity”. These are Tommaso Gallina’s words, the 'Justo maker'. You can find a previous post about Tommaso on this blog.

At the chicken farm we share space, ideas ... and projects. Justo is one of the results of this collaboration.
He's a common project between 'beat' by Tommaso Gallina and ONVIS.

He's a good company and can be very comfortable.

In his future he will have a partner. Tommaso doesn’t want him to be alone, even if he has good human friends.

Here below Justo is watching incredulous Nicola's performance, who is FOLKS' owner, a shop in Verona where you can find ONVIS jeans.

If you like Justo you can find it on the internet www.beatproject.eu

'L'uomo che verrà'. A poetic movie.

Last night we saw the beautiful and very poetic movie 'L'uomo che verrà'.

Caterina Basso, a very good friend of ONVIS was acting. She is the teacher in the movie. Very good performance Caterina!

CATERINA BASSO

She likes Bluevirgin and Janson look too. Janson is one of our truestories.

some details ...

The movie tell us the story of the bloody events of September 1944, and in particular the massacre known to history as the 'massacre of Marzabotto'.

There were lots of massacres of unarmed civilians (many women and children, even very small) not only in Marzabotto, but in the whole area of Monte Sole in Bologna: about 770 people.

The main carachter is a sweet little girl. She becomes silent after a trauma but she observs it all with candor and clarity at the same time.

Ginotonico - a truestory

Ginotonico is a dj and producer of electronic and funk music, who lived his story between Italy and London.

He used a pair of ONVIS during his dj sets and in studio sessions.

After 1,5 years of life he gave them back to us with a great used look. We reproduced the same mood on our collection for this brand new style.

BEAT - Interview with TOMMASO GALLINA

ONVIS interviews Tommaso Gallina introducing 'beat'.

Tommaso Gallina is a young designer who is one of the creative talents who joined the ONVIS TEAM, sharing the space at the 'chicken farm'. Tommaso not only works with ONVIS but has his own client base and works extensively with international design agencies. Chicken farm studio produces fruitful exchanges and synergies, the creative inspiration that has created the limited edition collection of selvage sneakers ... and much more...

How 'beat' was born?

'beat' was born from the desire of designing projects, let's say ... in an independent and complete way. Not just pure design, but research of new fabrics and materials ... coordinating production ideas and offering a variety of technical solutions in different fields.

Basically ... the products are seen through the "idea stage", to prototypes, then supervised and coordinated until they go to market.

An exchange between different environments is important and to create it ... in my opinion, moving between many fields helps building ideas.

What does “beat” mean?

'beat' like 'BEAT GENERATION', which is a term used to describe a group of American writers who came to prominence in the 1950s (Kerouac, Corso, Ginsberg).

But .. 'beat' like 'heart beat' as well, the first sound which every human being uses to communicate that he/she is alive.

Why is 'follow the read beat' your pay off?

It comes from the assonance between "follow the read beat" and "follow the rabbit". 'Alice in wonderland' follows the rabbit. On the other hand it's a way to say to people to follow my projects and maybe find their "wonderland".

Where does inspiration comes from?

Everywhere.

Choose three adjectives to describe you.

Undefined, undefined, and maybe .. undefined.

A dream

To be able to understand my dreams.

An invention that is needed?

I've always desired to have a machine to record my dreams and be able to see them again.

What do you do in your spare time?

I listen to music, I draw, I travel.

What do you like of yourself?

A lots of things but I often change my mind.

What would you change?

A lots of things but I often change my mind.

Three songs

When you see her for the first time... which kind of shoes is she wearing?

She has no shoes ...

A cocktail.

Two is better!

Complete these sentences:

- High heels ... BLACKS AND SHINING, THE PERFECT MATCH FOR 'BONDAGE'
- Aperitif ... NOT FOR ME!
- Never say ... 'NOT ME' AHAH!
- Full tank, got cigarettes ... and ... I FORGOT MY GPS
- Luck ... YES
- Music ... AS WELL
- Under a marvellous sky ... I THINK OF HER BEATIFUL EYES
- My father ... HE'S SILENT
- Looking at the mirror ... WE ARE TWO PEOPLE

Thanks Tommy!
